Re: RDP / Console selection
... server we should have the same effect as long the session per user is limited to 1 (group policy). Cool. Is this since ever and by design? Or is this a new positive side effect? Vice versa it does sadly not work. Breaking RDP session let VNC freeze instead of seamless switching back to console.

Re: Multiple Monitors Feature suggestion
This must be the most impressive bump I've ever seen. Over 3 years later and by the original author!
And to be on topic...I would also benefit from such a feature as almost everyone at my company has multiple monitors, and this would make interaction with them much quicker and more seamless.

Random wakes from Windows sleep - solution
This is in no way a VNC problem, but is relevant to Windows machines in setups which typically use VNC. I wanted a machine used as a peer-to-peer file ... wake enabled solved the problem. A question: Does anyone know if the seamless operation I describe can be made to work in any way without frequent ...

Re: RealVNC, stop users from shutting down system services?
There was a "seamless window" / single window function in UltraVNC but it's broken -- http://forum.ultravnc.info/viewtopic.php?t=27920 You're giving people remote control of a whole system, so of course they can shut it down. You could do a hack like http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to ...

... the username/password combo for subsequent VNC sessions so I only have to enter it the first time. I also added a feature to prompt because sometimes you need local credentials or for some reason alternate ones. It's not quite as seamless as built-in functionality, but it is extremely efficient.

Re: [Seamless Window] Accessing a single application window
Wait a second then --- if your server app is already in Linux, can't you just use a Windows X client like Cygwin/X?
http://x.cygwin.com/
I'm writing client/server contrary to X notation, because after all these years their backward definition STILL confuses me.

Re: [Seamless Window] Accessing a single application window
Thanks for the link!
I'll give xpra a try. But it sounds as if it needs a X server on the user side so it would not be possible to use it on windows (I'm trying to access an application running on a linux server from a windows client).
