1.0.0 RC18
Win 98SE
This may be a daft question. Forgive my newbieness.
Is it possible to set up a single PC to act as two IP addresses, such that I can control my own PC (so to speak) without the screen-filling feedback that occurs if I connect to my own IP Address?
I guess I would need to add a new IP Address that does _not_ become adopted by the VNC Server. Any server device seems to take on any new IP Address that is applied to the system, temporary or otherwise
If it it does not work, then a simple (...but considered and polite...) "No" will suffice <GG>

Loopback without feedback?
Re: Loopback without feedback?
All interfaces share the same video setup so the caught between 2 mirrors is unavoidable when you are connecting to the system you are already on.OldNick wrote:1.0.0 RC18

This may not be all that helpful to your situation.
However...I have an extended desktop (two monitors). When running the server and viewer in the same PC (with allowloopback), if I place the viewer on the second monitor (the extended desktop), the mirror effect goes away. I guess because VNC does not "look" at the extended desktop. It helps quite "a lot" when testing in one machine.
This is on an IBM T40 laptop with an external 18" flat LCD panel attached. OS: Windows XP Professional.
