Windows 98 server problems.

Post by mirrock »

I get a direct connection to my mom's win 98 pc and she can see my mouse move but in my viewer, the GUI for her screen is black. Once out of about 10 connections, I could view her screen in my GUI but my mouse/keyboard input did not work at that time. What can I try next?

I know how to create a custom server executable but I am not certain how to disable Directx in the server viewer executable? Please advise. By the way I am running xpsp2 on my pc.

Bevtech wants to ensure that you've got DirectX9.Oc installed on the machine running the viewer. This is a requirement listed http://www.uvnc.com/pchelpware/.

The viewer is running on your box so that's where you need to install DirectX. You mentioned your mom had 98, do you too?

I have Directx9.0c on my xpsp2 box (viewer) and I still get a black viewer from my mom's Win 98 box (server). I know PHW works on my bro's Windows 2000 box in that same town as where my mom lives. In 2 days I am traveling 300 miles and will work on my mom's box including putting directx9.0c on it. Circumstances don't allow for them to install it themselves at this time so I will do it myself when I get there. But if there are anymore suggestions, please advise.

I reloaded my mom's Win98 box and it now works well with PHW now. I realized shortly after posting above that it would do no good to load the server (win98 box) with Directx9.0c since PHW doesn't even look at that.
