I am encountering a strange error and hoping someone out there might be able to assist.
I'm trying to use UVNC SC to setup a remote support session between 2 computers. I have successfully created and tested UVNC SC between 2 computers on the same local network. I am now trying to do the same over a VPN connection and encountering some problems. Configuration is as follows:
I've used the creator to make an .EXE.
IP used in helpdesk.txt file = [PUBLIC-IP]
computer 1 (server) runs .exe file and is directed to [PUBLIC-IP] of my firewall
Firewall rule:
forward [PUBLIC-IP] TCP port 5500 to [VPN-IP]
computer 2 (viewer) is connected and is assigned [VPN-IP]
(I have tested this connection and verified it works)
When computer 1 runs the .EXE file, there is a delay, and then computer 2 starts popping up with the error:
"Connection failed - error reading protocal version
possible causes
-you've forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the server uses a DSMPlugin
- viewer and server are not compatible (they use different RVB protocals)
-bad connection

I'm not using encryption (if that's what the DSMPlugin is)
Im using newly installed versions of the software that worked when testing local ips
bad connection ....???... it's all over high-speed... why could this occur ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
