First logon ok, after logoff new logon not possible

Post by hansinl1 »

Hi,
I'm running UltraVNC on a Windows 2000 server. The first logon works well. After logoff, there is no way to connect again to the server. UltraVNC stops after negotiating the protocol, the server screen does not appear and there is no further error message.
I have to start the server again, so that the next connection per UltraVNC is possible. Any ideas?

How are you ending your connection? You should by using the close connection button, Image, instead of simply closing the window.

P.S. Are you using the MS Logon? If not, I'll move this to the General Help forum.

Hi,
it is the same, wether I close the window or use the closing button.
Yes, I'm using MS Logon (New Logon).

Hans-Georg,

Just for testing: Could you please switch to "classic" password.
I'm not sure if the issue you have is MSLogon specific or if it's independent of the authentication method.

Hi Martin,

I already testet this, and it didn't work either. But we now installed the SP4. After this installation the VNC worked fine ... Thank you for your help!

So in windows 2000 you need to have sp4 installed in order for mslogon to work properly.. That is good to know..
