issues getting pchelpware to work

Post by ron van de lisdonk »

HI,

I have been trying and trying to get this software to work,

I have downloaded the release, the documentation and all available writeups off the forum and website.

My main issue is that I constantly get errors relating to :

Upnp unable to add mapping when using dynalias
resulting in not being able to connect viewer to server

using repeater :

the viewer seems Ok but the servcer gets:

network init failed
encryption failed

could someone assist please

I would uncheck the Upnp and try it without the dynalias only use ID a username and password and see if it will work. I have seen numerous posts resulting from trying to use dynalias.

Hi,

i have tried this and although the viewer seems to connect to the repeater and the server also connects to the repeater i still get :

on the server startup: (only listed the last 4 lines)
encryption failed,if using proxy,new repeater listening to 443
The operation completerd successfully
The operation completerd successfully
init network failed

on the repeater:
accept() connection
writing protocol version error
reading proxy settings error
Accept() connection
viewer added to the list 123456789
connection closed by peer
viewer removed from the list 123456789

as added info, i am starting the server from a web link, i.e. the server is located on our website and from there gets loaded by the user. currently I am doing this internally only for testing.

any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated

Do you have all the right ports forwarded? I believe you will need ports 5500, 5901 and 443 open on the repeater's router. If you are also using DynAlias you would also need port 5912 open.

P.S. If you didn't want others using your repeater, you shouldn't have published your IP address. [topic=9564][/topic]

P.P.S. Sounds like you have the repeater set up properly since someone else was able to use it.

Hi,

I didnt mind showing people the repeaters address as this is only set up for testing purposses and the maching is completely outside of our network.

I am glad it has been set up correctly and as such can now concentrate on why it is not working from within our network.

I will leave the repeater open for another couple of days so if anyone wants to use it, by all means go ahead.

I will in the end block all access to the repeater from other sources though.
