OS W2kProfessional SP4 on both computers, LAN via linksys BEFSR41 switching router.

1.
When creating a new (DIRECT) connection:
Alias=xxxxxxx
Password=xxxxxx
Direct Connection Listen Port=5500
CLICK SAVE
CLICK CREATE SERVER
popup window named "Server ip address". Seems to me this window should be named "Viewer ip address".
I say that because i must enter the address of the computer where the viewer resides to make a connection.

Also in this same (Server ip address) window it says that the External detected ip address is "d~ûwX1øwÿÿÿÿ4é".
Just curious about this, it does not keep me from making a connection if i delete it and put in the address of the computer where the viewer is located.

The last question is related to PCHW and the process of creating a customized interface using CUSTOM.ZIP

As I understand it, please tell me if I'm wrong, what happens when I open PcHelpWare_viewer.exe, enter connection options, save it then click the (create server) button, is that a new server is created based on the viewer settings. The new server is created by the create.bat executable using the icon, background and helpdesk files from the folder
\PcHelpWare\create_server\custom and the .dll,.txt,.exe,.sfx......etc. files from the folder \PcHelpWare\create_server. If this is correct, what is the purpose of the contents of the folder \PcHelpWare\server_res?

Also, since the PcHelpWare_rel10_SCgui does not have a PcHelpWare_viewer.exe, how is it possible to create a "custom server" with PcHelpWare_rel10_SCgui that will be compatable with a viewer that is foung in PcHelpWare_rel10? And if it is possible how is it done and how is it deployed to the customers PC?

Any thoughts on these?

1. Correct, viewer ip

2. The detected ip address is the external ip adress. When you have a direct connection, it's the official ip address, when you connect via a router, is the official router ip address. You can manual change it, replace
it by a dynalias.com name. You can also replace it by some internal ip address, in that case you can only connect from another internal PC.

3. When you use the viewer to create a server "archieve", the app copy the selected files to custom, server_res are some samples you can select from the viewer.

3a. SC gui allow to create a server app with multiple connections.
The viewer is one setting, so can't be used to create a multi setting server.
It's to complex to explain it in a few lines..
Very short:
manual create a helpdesk.txt, put the custom bmp/icon at the correct spot and execute the create bat.
