Pre-configured VNCViewer

Post by superwopguy »

Possibility to preconfigure the viewer with the Repeater IP and port. Upon execution I just want the VNCViewer to ask for the ID.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful product.

Hello I was just wondering if there is any way to pre-configure a vncviewer. I would like to preconfigure the viewer with the repeater IP address and port. Then when my techs execute it I just want it to ask for the ID. Has someone already done this? Can someone please tell me how to do this?

I think, this thread from october 2005 shows a simple solution in a vbs-script:

Here at work, I've got a PHP script on our intranet that generates .vnc files automatically. So when I click a link on a web page that has a list of my machines, it generates a file like computername.vnc which downloads/opens. There's no reason that there couldn't be repeater settings and all that other stuff in the .vnc file, I think. I just put the IP and the password hash in there.

You could easily have a desktop app or script that would generate the vnc files too, just like my php script does.
