Hi, im administrating in Active Directory and would like to apply vnc for helpdesk purpose. The network has up to 200 workstations and we would like to use remote desktop, in stead of traveling around the building...
now, ive got serveral questions
-is it possible to run just a server installation (by adding this app into the startup of a group once)?
-do i need to use up to 200 servers on workstations or is there a easier way, becouse of network balast?
-is it possible to set 1 password over all those installed servers?
-do you know a better solution for me?
thank u,

helpdesk?
1) There are remote installation methods but I'm not an expert with that.
Look for FastPush in http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/links.html
2) Yes you need a vnc server on each workstation, but they do not cause network traffic, only if you connect from your helpdesk with vncviewer.
3) It is possible to set the same password on all workstations, it's just stored as a reg key: \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3\Default\Password
4) Better way: use mslogon or new mslogon to use Windows authentication.
