vncencodemgr.h Gutted?

Post by dimaxp »

Hi,

I have been taking a look at the source code of SCIII to figure out why the javaviewer ssl returns the unknown rfb encoding 16 error, instead of connecting. I have found that SCIII winvnc no longer supports any encoding other than RAW, Hextile, and ZRLE. This is because vncencodemgr.h has been gutted to not support them.

My question is was there a reason for this, other than a smaller file size? Can the encoders be restored to allow javaviewer ssl to once more function?

Thank you,
dimaxp

I have copied over the libjpeg, lzo, vncencodemgr.h, and the encoders themselves from UltraVNC into SCIII source. I then recompiled and found that javaviewer ssl functions with SCIII. There is a problem that I have noticed though, the javaviewer refuses to work in Full Color mode. When switched to Full color, it refuses to update the screen until you switch back to 256 colors.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
