This is outside of VNC.
I am wondering if anyone can help me set up Win98 as a Server, so I can remote control another PC.
I won't go into great details yet.
- I have a heap of questions because
- I have tried many things, but come up against brick walls.
- So far I have posted to many places, and had scant results. So I am asking for "expressions of interest" <GG>
I want to direct connect MODEM to MODEM, not use the Net.

Windows 98 and direct peer-peer control is going to be an interesting thing for you to figure out.

And as soon as your networked use VNC to take over the other persons computer. They will have to run the application for server since there is no "Services" available in 98. and you run the viewer.

Re: Help with Win98 setup to act as Server. MODEM to MODEM
You will have to use TCP/IP and know the IP address on the other side.OldNick wrote:This is outside of VNC.

I want to direct connect MODEM to MODEM, not use the Net.
BTW you are trying to force VNC into a configuration it was not meant for.

Wup! Wot do you mean? <G>
Is VNC not meant for anything but internet connection?
I have just managed to get Dialup Servr to behave and actually answer me. I have been trying while answering.
