Bad crash test19_8

Post by cerb »

Hello I tested v 19_8 and have to report a bad server crash during authentication.

* Ultravnc server test19_8 (application mode) on WinXp Sp2 (firewall microsoft on but allows vnc)
* Ultravnc viewer (tried both rc18 and test19_8) on NT4.0 Sp6

Connecting from the viewer to the server will cause the server PC to freeze completly (cannot do anything; server PC needs full reboot).

On the viewer, the protocol negotiation screen is ok, then the password screen appears regularly, you input the password, and at that point the password screen goes away, you see on the status window "password recognised" (as normal), but then instead of creating the viewer window, the viewer freezes (does not do anything anymore even after 5 minutes).
On the server side, the PC freezes completely.

I now went back to RC18 and all works regularly.
So it must be something introduced in the new test version (and really nasty bug; I already have lost some files on the server due to those crashes...)

is this really a mslogon problem?
From the description it seems that mslogon is not used since only a password (and no username) is used during authentication.
