Hello Everybody
I have a Linux firewall and a Nat server all set up correctly
to allow port 5900 into a computer in one of my subnets,
I have checked www.grc.com and my port 5900 is OPEN! (so it says) but UltraVNC won't work.
5800 is for http only ? I don't need it right?
nothing else is open only port 5900 , noone can ping me or do anything else (it's dropped with iptables)
can anyone tell me what else do I need to open besides port 5900 do get it working ?
Sincerely
Robert B

Re: UltraVNC iptables only port 5900 is opened, but won't wo
First: Have you tried connecting from the inside to make sure everything is set up correctly?
Second: Have you tried running tcpdump, ethereal or snort to confirm the packets are actually making it to the computer and back?
Third: Is routing setup correctly?
Fourth: Is there available bandwidth?
If everything appears to be OK try telentting to port 5900 and you should see RFB...
