SC exe used to work but doesn't now

About 6 or 7 months ago I created the SC exe and have used it successfully (with encryption) for family and friends maybe 70 or 80 times over that period. I have the exe file sat on my desktop so that I can email it easily to anyone who needs my help. I recently decided to build myself a new PC so I have new hardware but I am using exactly the same software as before, ie, WinXP Pro sp2.

If I double-click on the SC exe file on the desktop of my existing machine, it runs correctly - you can see it in the systray in the image below:



Now, remember that this is the very same file that I've been emailing to people and they've used it successfully. However, when I now use a USB flash drive to transfer the file over to my new machine, this is what I get when I try to run it:



I've also tried transferring the file on floppy and CD in case the flash drive was the problem and I've also tried transferring it to my laptop using all the different methods but still with the same result.

Why does it work on my existing machine but now - after 7 months of successful use and being emailed far and wide - does it come up with this dialog box?

It's OK guys, I've sussed it out

After struggling for the best part of a day with this problem I had a flash of inspiration. Neither my new machine nor my laptop were connected to the internet at the time of testing the SC exe file so I connected and hey presto, it all works as it should.
