Do I need DSM plugin for security if...

Post by Curious »

Hi. I was wondering if I needed DSM plugin for security if I use UltraVNC entriely within my home behind a firewall. I have a home network using WPA2 AES encryption with a 63 character passphrase. Can someone sniff out my connection between my laptop and my desktop via my wireless router and access information without actually getting into my network? If not, is there a reason for me to use the DSM plugin if I don't access my computer from the internet?

Thanks for the input.

Is your wireless encypted?? Would be the the deciding factor. I personally encypt everything even in my lan I figure too much is better then not enough..;)

Does setting the router to accept WPA2 AES encryption count? Or is that only to get into the network? How does one encrypt the transmission of data from computer to computer?
