Remove Wallpaper Option from the Viewer?

Post by MrChris »

I know there is an option from the vnc server to set wether or not the Wallpaper is removed when a vncviewer is connected. But is there any way or plans on making it so this option can be set via the VNC Viewer?

Many thanks,

MrChris

i haven't found any vote system for feature requests, so i'll simply post here that i'd really like this feature to be added too - the reason is because it's much simplier to configure the viewer than the server and there can be different connection conditions.
for example if i connect to local network over the internet i'd like wallpapers to be removed (to save the bandwidth and to speed things up), but when i connect within local network i don't actually need it and would prefer to not bother users with wallpaper flickering. if at server side there would be an option like 'remove wallpaper on viewer request' then i could control this removal by simply configuring remote and local viewers... (i wonder if RFB protocol allows that?)
