Run vnc without starting Windows..

Post by sitdown »

Hi,

It would bee great to be able to start Ultra vnc from a floppy, hd or usb pen. Without loading Windows, mayby even possible to get into Bios remotly? Probably not?
The main reason i ask for this is to scan harddisks from remote a computer for malware, without any rootkits or locked files to stop malware software to be found..

It is possible to implement Ultra Vnc in Bartpe cd but not for the reason of scanning for malware..
And it is better to send a small software to the users that we want to help.. As the singleclick software, that work around router problematic.

wonderful idea, but it won't work. you need network drivers for that to work, and you don't get that with dos...

Hi,

Ok, thanks for the reply.

But is it anyway possible to scan the remote computer for malware when first linked with ultravnc?

Mayby i could send a live small linuxdistro or something to the person i want to help..?

I use UltraVNC server and viewer from BartPE bootable CD. There is a standard plugin for UltraVNC. Google for BartPE. It's free (need Windows license for the PC you boot the CD from).

Good luck
