Setting up connection choices at a single IP address??

Post by Jhpersol »

Hello,

I'd like to setup a UVNC with SingleClick system that allows a client to run the Remote_Support.exe file from their desktop and then they are given a screen that asks for a certain ID # or Port so that they are then connected to the proper Support person to fix a problem.

For Example: Jon Smith VNC's with SingleClick into our companies system. Then Mr Smith is given a choice to Enter an Id # or Port # from 1-5 depending on which Support person he needs to look at this problem. Each support person is given a specific ID # or Port for clients to connect to. Mr. Smith enters ID/Port # 5902 and is then Connected with the proper support person's computer who is assigned #5902.

So far I can establish SC with Support 1, Support 2, Support 3 etc.. options on top of each other, But instead of having 5 seperate Support buttons on the SC screen, Id like to have just 1 which then asks the client to enter the appropriate Support number. Please give me any advice that comes to mind. I've been told it has been done before, but no idea how to do it? :|

The only suggustion I can say is take a look at single click III. It is still in beta but it maybe what you are looking for.

Another thing is that you might want to take a look at the repeater.. SC III has it own and needs port 443 to function properly..

Just some thoughts.. Why dont you just name connection 1 to 3 up to 20 with the users name.. That way when they double left click on it will go to the correct person that is listening for the connection..

SCII without secure connection (faster responsive)
SCIII secure connection (slower responsive by encryption)

SCII and repeater mode II (you just need ID number) and tabbed_vncviewer for increase responsive/screen refresh

host repeater on DMZ and open only 2 ports (outgoing and ingoing)

forward 2 ports
5900 and 5500 if there no winvnc on computer hosting repeater.
5901 and 5501 if there winvnc and vncviewer on computer hosting repeater for loopback test.
