After installing XP SP2, I cannot connect with client computers. SP2 enables windows firewall by default. When I disable the firewall, I can connect with the affected client computers.
Unfortunately, a mass install of SP2 left me with several "stranded" client computers that required me to physically go to the remote site, connect a monitor and keyboard and manually disable the firewall. Does anyone know if there is a way to install SP2 and have the machine default to Windows firewall off?
After accessing the remote computers, I tried configuring the client computer's firewall by enabling port 5900 without success and was only able to connect with the firewall disabled. Should this work or is the firewall configuration more complex?

-One for midifying the INF file that is used for the initial settings, and can be changed so that the "default selection will be the one you want.
-One for configuring and customizing the firewall. This one is very detailed.

More than SP1 & AV & Firewall
SP2 is a major change in MS's compatability at any cost. The firewall and AV integration is greater, and many potental holes have been addressed to prevent or limit the exposure in the future. I think SP2 will be a good strategy, but make sure ou are alright from a tactical stand point before deploying.
