Multiple VNC servers and viewers + MSRC4Plugin

Post by A Nony Mouse »

Scenario:

5 devices, all running WinXP SP2 and/or W2K3

Ultr@VNC 1.0 RC18
Video Driver 1.0.0.18
MSRC4Plugin

Each VNC instance is configured with MSRC4 at 128 bits encryption with the self-generated key.

Each key is named per the hostname, such that host "server1" would have a key named "server1.key" in %ProgramDir%\UltraVNC

Of the 5 devices, 2 are used for regular viewing of the other 4.

Problem:

Each time a device is rebooted, or the VNC service is re-started, I have to manually re-configure the key name (it resets to "rc4.key" each time).

Each time I start a viewer instance, I have to manually re-configure the keys for each connection.

Questions:

Is there any way to save the server configuration?

Is there any way to have separate "client" profiles, much as TightVNC or TridiaVNC where I can specify what settings to use to connect to each server?

I'm running RC18 and it keeps the last config setting for the plugin but I too agree that it would be very useful to be able to save the key details along with the connection details. To my knowledge you can't but I'd love someone to prove otherwise or for the feature to be added.

Cheers
