The end user OneClick customer module file size with the full featured UltraVNC winvnc.exe supplied in the setup program and using minimal customer module options is about 650k.
OneClick is designed to let you use your own winvnc.exe file so you can modify, cut and hack out as many unwanted features as you want (logging, mslogon, wav files, bitmaps, protocols etc.).
Any winvnc.exe can be used as long as it's named winvncsc.exe and gets it's settings from UltraVNC.ini and accepts the command line:
-sc_exit -autoreconnect [IdCode] -sc_prompt -connect [Address]::[Port]
For safe mode/service mode your winvnc.exe must process the -install command and read the service_commandline entry in the UltraVNC.ini file.
The -noregistry setting enables/disables the "SC Prompt" when connecting to the UltraVNC Viewer. If -noregistry is not on the host line in the helpdesk.txt file the server will connect using the standard VNC protocol so it can connect to non-UltraVNC viewers.

v1.1.0 is out of beta testing and available for download.
If the remote user has administrative privileges it elevates the UltraVNC SC program to system level so you will be able to send Ctrl-Alt-Del keystrokes, log off/on and reboot the remote computer.
It will automatically reconnect back to you if you loose the connection or reboot the remote computer as long as you have the [DIRECT] tag in your helpdesk.txt configuration file.
This is not V2, V2 is still in beta... check the page below for updates.

To answer some questions. The reason you can't find OneClick from the main Advantig.com website is because OneClick is only available to users on this forum. You can only access it from the http://www.advantig.com/oneclick page. This isn't expected to change until version 2 is released and put on Download.com and Tucows.

Re: OneClick with Auto-Reconnect Service Mode & Safe Mod
OneClick Creator v1.7 has been released.
Now when it when it creates the customer module it also creates a matching WebView.exe file that you can place on your website for your technician to run if connecting via repeater from an off-site system that does not have the UltraVNC Viewer pre-installed. If you do not have the -id tag in your helpdesk.txt file the tech module will not be created.
If the technician is at a system with the UltraVNC Viewer installed, the technician should use the pre-installed UltraVNC Viewer to connect.
The OneClick creator can be downloaded free at:

How both remotely stop OneClick and shutdown/logout/restart?
Suppose you've supplied OneClick (set up with DIRECT to assure reconnect in event of loss of connection or restart of machine being controlled, due to need to do some work that requires restarts) to customer and customer has launched it and you proceed to work....... but when done, customer is no longer around at their end.
What's the best/recommended way to assure both stopping OneClick (so won't try to reconnect) and also assure shutdown, logout or restart so as to assure against leaving the customer's machine exposed to whoever might walk up to it?
If just stop OneClick remotely (by clicking "stop" icon on customer's machine), is stopped and one is disconnected...... but customer's machine is still on and accessible by anyone who walks up to it.
If shutdown, logout or restart the customer's machine and then refuse further connection, customer's machine will presumably continue to request connection in future until one gets the customer to click "stop" icon.
Is there a way to accomplish both?
Thanks.

Re: How both remotely stop OneClick and shutdown/logout/rest
It's possible to do it manually but not simple. I'll have to add that feature. It should be ready to download in a few days.springfieldmh wrote:What's the best/recommended way to assure both stopping OneClick (so won't try to reconnect) and also assure shutdown, logout or restart so as to assure against leaving the customer's machine exposed to whoever might walk up to it?

Re: OneClick with Auto-Reconnect Service Mode & Safe Mod
Version 1.8.0 is available for download. Too many were having problems formatting the connect string for the different options such as encryption, repeater ID etc. ( the id x -plugin -connect address:port -noregistry configuration line) and getting [DIRECT] to work to avoid the connect menu so this version will guide you through the helpdesk.txt creation for direct mode and write the helpdesk.txt file for you. A more comprehensive editor may follow later.

Re: OneClick with Auto-Reconnect Service Mode & Safe Mod
I've had several requests to change the direct mode prompt so... I have changed the direct mode prompt to default to yes and added a note explaining how to use your existing helpdesk.txt file.
If you want to use your existing helpdesk.txt just click no when asked if you want the customer to connect immediately and you will have the option to edit it or use it as-is. This is now explained on the message dialog.

Re: OneClick with Auto-Reconnect Service Mode & Safe Mod
hi, i run my own PC repair business and want to start offering remote support.
look, you guys are obviously really clever, and i think what you have achieved is fantastic - if i could just get it to work.
however i am getting so frustrated with these products here, because no one tells you how to use them - we need some user guides please!
you need to get it sorted so that i dont have to spend hours just trying to find out really simple things like what to install and how to configure them.
i am quite happy to pay a donation or registering fee or whatever, or, god forbid, even pay for the software....javascript:emoticon(':D')
Very Happy
But what i dont have time to do is spend days trawling through message boards trying to figure out what on earth needs to be installed, how it should be configured etc.
its so frustrating, because i can see the potential of this software and its just round the corner except that theres no step by step guide to sorting it out. ive been trying for the past 4 hours to get this to work to no avail.
heres my situation:
I have a PC behind a NAT router which i want to be the controlling PC (the engineers PC). i can port forward to this machine fropm the router if neccesary.
most of my customers are going to be behind a NAT router too, but not all of them.
i want them to be able to go to my website, download a file, run it and connect to my engineers PC.
i dont want the customer to have to do any configuring, or messing about with their routers ports or anything like that.
i dont have a static IP,(i could get one or use DDNS, but at this point in time i dont have a problem recompling the config file to reflect my current IP.) and my customers will also not have static IP's. if i really need to have a static IP, then i will get one.
can someone please, please tell me how to do this.
otherwise instead of a donation to you clever guys who actually do the work, im going to have to buy a corporate product, because the amount of time i am spending on just trying to get this to work in a basic mode is untenable.
thanks for your time
cheers

Hi kevineaton77
If you are behind a NAT and so are your customers then remote connections are not going to be the easiest thing in the world to set up. Yea it can be done but time is money and all that. Configuring will have to be done on both sides.
What you need is something like EchoVNC or Gotomypc, a VNC server accessable by both parties with no hassle. Not free though.
Good Luck.

The servers were physically moved to a new location and the DNS needed time to propagate. The link should be working ok now.ofsha wrote:download link broken on:

This forum is for UltrVNC support so I don't feel it should be used as the primary point of support for OneClick. There is an icon included in the OneClick folder named "Email Tech Support" that you should use or you can use the OneClick area of the Advantig Forum atkevineaton77 wrote:also, the thought of support should anything stop working, given the lack of interest in my post, shows up more deficiencies.

Re: OneClick with Auto-Reconnect Service Mode & Safe Mod
actually, the post i made originally was a complaint about the lack of decent instructions about uvnc, uvnc-sc and advantig alltogether, how to install them, what to install, which to install first, how to configure, what ports to open etc.
this stuff is evidently not massively complicated, but i shouldnt have to trawl for a day - a DAY! - thorugh a bulletin board full of problems that are irrelevant to me to find out how to do this and still not have it work.
if you run a business, as i do, a day is worth more than the $400 that it would cost me for dual desk (advantigs maker), plus you get free and guaranteed support and you know the product works.
WAKE UP!..... if you give some very little thoght and time to it and a user guide for, lets face it, the very limited number of scenarios in which these products are going to be used, you could beat the corporates hands down.
luckily for me, some very kind people have offered to help me from the forum......they stated that it works fantastically when its up and running, but it is a pain in the backside to set up..... why? because of the lack of instructions!
well, there it is. i think you guys, the coders, are amazing with what you have achieved here, and im going to give it another day of my time, but thats it, after that, im going to buy a product.
do yoursleves a favour and let us know how to use it!!! then we might be tempted to use and donate.
cheers

OneClick is still in development so documentation has been lagging behind. I'll put a bit more emphasis on getting some documentation together on both the OneClick and SingleClick setup and usage.kevineaton77 wrote:actually, the post i made originally was a complaint about the lack of decent instructions about uvnc, uvnc-sc and advantig alltogether, how to install them, what to install, which to install first, how to configure, what ports to open etc.
I hope to have something ready in a few days.

I've added a PDF with a step-by-step guide that should help get people up and running more quickly and also added links to the installer for the UVNC online documentation.

Re: OneClick with Auto-Reconnect Service Mode & Safe Mod
kevineaton77, you really want a repeater service - I am looking at starting a hosted service for that, so contact me for pricing if you want (use pm).
pgmoney, it seems the UltraVNC SC binary that you are distributing with you oneclick program must be modified, since it has those extra features (re-connect, auto-reboot, etc). Where is the source?

lokkju.....no, i dont really need a repeater, and if i did, i can set up my own repeater now as i have some very comprehensive instructions!
pgmoney, thats fantastic...see, now i am happy, i spent 10 minutes following your instructions setting it up and it works fine.
great stuff guys. really great.
just need to do some comprehensive testing now and i will buy the corporate version and donate some cash to the uvnc guys.

Re: OneClick with Auto-Reconnect Service Mode & Safe Mod
I don't have the SC source code, the SC executables are not modified (or even recompiled) they are the executable files exaclty as they were downloaded from the official SC website. To update the SC files you just drop the new exe files from UVNC.com into the SC Source folder. The extra features come from the add-on not the winvnc.exe file.lokkju wrote:pgmoney, it seems the UltraVNC SC binary that you are distributing with you oneclick program must be modified, since it has those extra features (re-connect, auto-reboot, etc). I should have a RemoteStart module that will allow you to start the support module remotely (unattended) in a few days. It's in testing now.
