Multi-monitor Support & Restarting Service

Post by rmdiv »

As you know, in order to have multi-monitor support the server must run as a service. I wish this would not be a requirement. In any case, since the server is running as a service it's one of the first programs running. Now let's assume you start your computer with just one monitor. Then later you hook up the second monitor. This is a scenario that I do on a daily basis. Unfortunately, in this scenario the viewer cannot be configured to show all monitors as one big monitor (you can only switch between the two). In order to get this working you will have to shutdown the service and then restart again.

Just thought I post this here as this confused me quite a bit. It was not very intuitive that I can switch between the two screens but not configure the viewer to show both of them as one big window without restarting the service.
