I want to be able to put a .vnc file, RC4.key & the viewer on a floppy or flash drive to be able to connect to a remote computer from any PC. My problem is that I can't find any way to open the .vnc file with the viewer on a computer that the .vnc extension isn't regestered with UltraVNC. There isn't an Open command in the viewer that I can find.
Is there a way I can do this?
Thanks!
Mike

Open Viewer W/ .vnc File
Anybody? I'm sure that someone out there has wanted to do this? Just put it on a flash drive or floppy so that you or a co-worker can connect from any computer?
OK, wait a sec, I think I just found it. If I click on the ... square next to the IP address I can open the .vnc file! I'll try that on an unregistered computer & see if it works.

Well it *would* work, except that it needs the full path of the key file! That would be fine if it was running off of a floppy that is always A: drive, but since most computers don't have floppy's anymore & I run it off of a flash drive it can & probably will have a different drive letter on each computer it is plugged in to. Any ideas how to get around this? besides making the user copy the folder to the c: drive or something like that? Can it be made to look in the folder it is run from regardless of the drive letter?
Create a folder on your flash drive \program files\ultravnc\ and copy all your files there. When you start the viewer click on config and remove the reference to c: so it looks like \program files\ultravnc\ and it will refernce your rc4 file and any other you have. I have run the viewer from my flash drive. You will just need a little work each time you start.

vncviewer command line
-config is an option for open "filename.vnc" as example where .vnc is unregistered
solution:
create a batch "filename.bat" or start ...run or from command line box (cmd)
vncviewer.exe -config filename.vnc
