Cant get SC & Viewer to work

Post by IKE »

I have Viewer set up on a Win XP Pro SP1. I have SC set up on a Win XP Home SP2. I have a D-Link DI-624 connecting the two together. The Viewer side seems to be listening. The SC side tries to connect, but I get nothing. If I am on the private side of my router, do I still have to set up port forwarding on the D-Link??? I have disabled Windows Firewall on both machines, but it still didn't work.
Thank you in advance. This thing is driving me crazy!!!

Ok..It is not a d-link issue. I tried SC on a XP Home SP2 to Viewer on another XP Home SP2 through the d-link and it worked great.
So my problem is with one laptop that is running XP Pro SP1. (SP1 because mycompany wants it that way)

What else can I do to the XP Pro SP1 to get it to listen. I tried to open port 5500 in win Firewall but that didn't work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
