distributer5.exe
Is the file located at http://sc.uvnc.com/SCIII/repeaterII/ corrupted? I downloaded it on an XP machine the other day and it ran fine. Trying it out on a few different machines and I'm getting a runtime error "abnormal program termination". Is there an alternate location I can download it from in the meantime?
Thanks Guys. AWESOME program by the way, I appload anybody who is involved in the development.

I am actually VNCed in tot he machine that is experiencing the error message when loading the distributer 5 exe. So I changed the connection port and restarted the machine. Still getting the error, but it looks like if I don't click ok to the error message I can still open the log.

Maybe that will make some sense to you guys.

Ah HAH!
I noticed that the log from the computer that is getting the error did not include "SSL listener started on port = 443". then I remembered that I had just installed IIS on the server I am setting the distributer up on. Turned off IIS and I had no problems starting the distributer.
Thanks for your help guys. Hope this saves otherstime in the future.

Re: distributer5.exe
The issue is the CERTIFICATE.PEM file is actually named CERTIFICATE.PEM.txtGary.Hibbard wrote:Is the file located at http://sc.uvnc.com/SCIII/repeaterII/ corrupted? 1) Check your view options in Explorer and uncheck hide extensions for known file types .
2) Rename the CERTIFICATE.PEM.txt to CERTIFICATE.PEM and launch the distributer5.exe
It worked for me
Frank,
Confirmed does not run with IIS
I stopped the IIS Admin service and sure enough distributor5 works. The ability to change port 443 would be very nice. I'm trying to run the repeater on Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 which must be running IIS.
morrison,
If you are running a small biz 2003 server then IIS is turn on by default I know because I cant run a repeater off of my 2003 small biz server because I use IIS on it..
I have mine running off of a workstation that has its own static Ip address and my repeater works great with SCIII but once in a while the repeater will stick and that is a bug they are working on.
SCIII doesnt like the port 443 to be double natted only port forwarded from a n public Ip address. Nating may not work properly but I do know that double natting will not I tried it and it wouldnt work for me.

Runtime Error
Hello altogether,
I also run across this error. My log is as follows:
socket() initialized
bind() succeded to port 5901
5901
0
SSL initialized
SSL loading CERTIFICATE.PEM
listen() succeded
socket() initialized
bind() succeded to port 5500
listen() succeded
Then there comes: Runtime error - Abnormal program termination
Win XP - I never heard of the IIS admin service whatsoever an at least i cant find it in the XP services list.
What is there to be done about that?

McConner,
If you are running a windows XP workstation then you shouldnt have to worry about IIS which is Internet Information Services.. Windows 2003 SBS and Prem. edition servers run this service.
Unless you installed it. You can check by making sure that it isnt installed under the add/remove program and the windows components..
if there is a check by it then it is installed if there isnt a check by it then it is not installed..
Do you have the certificate.txt renamed to cerficate.pem and in the same directory as the repeater file??
Is any application / service using port 443 on your workstation??

Hello,
IIS is not installed. Neither is any other internet related product that uses port 443 - at least not to my knowledge.
The certificate file is al right an in the log it also says that it is loaded...
Hmm, what options does that leave. Is there a program that scans the system for port usage (by software)?
