SC with multiple HOSTs

Post by rickgum »

Here is my problem. I configure SC with only one HOST entry in the Helpdesk file, and everything works fine.

I have two PC's running viewer in listen mode on different ports. My router is configured to forward to the correct PC based on the port. But, when I add a second HOST entry nothing works anymore. I can't connect to either PC.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

([HOST] config don't change between 2 solutions, only viewer and NAT/PAT router config change
  • 1st solution

    [HOST]
    pc0
    -connect 192.168.1.100::5500 -noregistry

    [HOST]
    pc1
    -connect 192.168.1.101::5501 -noregistry

    [HOST]
    pc2
    -connect 192.168.1.102::5502 -noregistry

    NAT router config
    pc0 external 5500 --> internal 192.168.1.100 port 5500
    pc1 external 5501 --> internal 192.168.1.101 port 5501
    pc2 external 5502 --> internal 192.168.1.102 port 5502

    and your vncviewer -listen port
    Start... Run...
    pc0 "%programfiles%\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 5500
    pc1 "%programfiles%\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 5501
    pc2 "%programfiles%\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 5502
  • 2nd solution for viewers

    [HOST]
    pc0
    -connect 192.168.1.100::5500 -noregistry

    [HOST]
    pc1
    -connect 192.168.1.101::5501 -noregistry

    [HOST]
    pc2
    -connect 192.168.1.102::5502 -noregistry

    if you have enough network knowledge (warning)
    you can redirect port: (but some router fail with this feature or can't support PAT=Port Address Translation

    NAT/PAT router config
    pc0 external 5500 --> internal 192.168.1.100 port 5500
    pc1 external 5501 --> internal 192.168.1.101 port 5500
    pc2 external 5502 --> internal 192.168.1.102 port 5500

    and your vncviewer -listen port
    Start... Run...
    pc0 "%programfiles%\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 5500
    pc1 "%programfiles%\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 5500
    pc2 "%programfiles%\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 5500
