NAT2NAT connections - NSC don't connect with Internet NH

Post by roadx »

Hi!

Anyone can HELP?!

I want from a PC with a real IP (my homePC) to acces my workPC behind a firewall with NAT. I install on my workPC WinVNC – Server and run NSC with member name and password, but NSC could not connect with Internet NH. The NSC icon tray stay in red (not connected) when I supposed, after a while, to turn into yellow (NH server found and connected)

My workPC OS is WindowsXP with SP1 and I do not have any PC local (OS built-in) firewall. IExplorer work fine... also ftp... So, I have http and ftp capabilities...

I want to use the method “UltraVNC NAT2NAT connections” because I don’t want to modify (in any way) the Linux firewall settings that manage my work LAN to forwarding some ports…

The scheme is somethink like:

[workPC (192.168.0.200)]<-->[(192.168.0.110 -eth1) Linux NAT (Firewall) (eth0 - xx.yy.zz.qq -real IP)]<-->Internet<-->[homePC(aa.bb.cc.dd -realIP)]

Those realIP (xx.yy.zz.qq and aa.bb.cc.dd) are, both, static IP !!

Sorry for the "artistic" representation of that chain ... :) ...

This method only bypass the port redirection from the Nat router.
But if your firewall block the port, it stay blocked.

Perhaps you better test SCIII, as it use the standard https ports and proxy's to connect.

Hi Rudi!

thx for your post!

Can you be more explicit with SCIII ?

What does it mean?! :| SCIII is the same like "UltraVNC SC (SingleClick)" method?

Your home-PC is both on static IP and not NAT'ed. Then you can start a listening viewer on the home-PC and start the connection from the work-PC with Add-new-client.

Of course the firewall at work must not block outgoing connections on port 5500.
