This looks completely awesome!!!

Can I ask, however - how will the two sides connect? Will they use a repeater, or is there port configurations needed on the viewer side?

Any details on how it works underneath would be great. =)

What we actual need is an SSL enabled java viewer.
This would solve a lot of problems....

I have the code of the SSL java viewer
I have the code of the ultraVNC java viewer
But i don't know enough java to import the extra code pieces from the
java viewer in our source...

Is there a java developper who can take a look at it ?

True i did make it a bit basic on viewer side.

The CLIENT EXE allows you to input/enter the TCP/IP or DOMAIN name and PORT of the computer running the vncviewer. The SUPPORT EXE just runns on PORT 5500 so you still need to setup NAT on your router to allow connection to your vncviewer.

I will look at changing the vncviewer to prompt for settings too.

BASICS OF SC:

1. SC CLIENT is run on the client computer (the SUPPORT EXE vncviewer will control this computer from another computer).
2. The client needs to connect to a computer running VNCVIEWER.EXE -LISTEN mode.
3. For a client to connect to a computer running vncviewer (Normaly Support guy who will control client computer) The SC CLIENT will need to know where to find the vncviewer on the network.
4. The client needs the TCP/IP address of the computer running vncviewer and the Port (default 5500)
5. If the SUPPORT vncviewer is behind a router you need to do port forwarding (Thus the SC client will then use the router WAN TCP/IP and the port you forwarding to a LAN IP and PORT in the NAT table of the router)

Hi Dwalf,

Your client.exe works a treat! I've had a couple of friends pretending to need support and connecting through to me.

Is it possible to do the following:

1. Preconfigure the TCP/IP and Port myself?

2. Have the cleanup routine run automatically when the connection is broken?

That way, the client needing support only needs to fire up the programme and answer the dialog boxes.

Regards

Hi Gary

My tools are built ontop of UltraVNC SC
All credit to Rudi and UltraVNC Team for a super product.

Yes you can setup SC with a Static IP or DynDns by editing the helpdesk.txt from custom.zip (This is SC main function)

You can download SC custom.zip at http://sc.ultravnc.net and look at the top right of the page to see the download.

Unzip SC and edit the helpdesk.txt file and rezip all components when done and compile online again.

You will need to Download UltraVNC full version and install and run the VNCVIEWER.EXE -Listen for connections.

You also use the SCCC.EXE to make a SC offline.

[topic=4046][/topic]

When you build your the normal way. The client wont see the cleanup window anymore as this is done already with normal SC.

There are other functions you can use with sc
ID's
DIRECT connection
Repeater

Some very cool stuff.

Have a look around this forum and http://www.ultravnc.com
There is tons of information to look at.

Cheers

Thanks & Support.exe mods?

Post by frister »

Kudos to Rudi and Dwalf for great tools. Can one of you tell me how to modify the paramaters passed to the viewer in your support.exe?

I need to make sure that the viewer starts up as vncviewer.exe -listen -viewonly -autoscaling. We're not supposed to actually touch anything on the users' machines. Instead, I'm supposed to walk them through their task as I watch what they do.

If you built support.exe with autoit, can you point me to the script? Or, did you use some other tool to create support.exe?

Thanks,
JJ

Hi
If you have AutoIt installed and 7ZIP, just download the EXE and with 7ZIP Extract the files inside the EXE. Basicly the EXE is a archive file with a another file what specifies witch exe inside to start.
Once you extracted the files use autoit to decompile the exe inside.

To recompile read up on some of the 7Zip feautures

This is nice but my opinion is that if the persons so computer unknowlegble that you have to use SC to solve his problem rather then over th phone or some type of chat program. Then he/she should not have to put in an IP address or port #. That somewhat negates the whole purpose of having a downloadble VNC server doing a reverse connection

$canitem = GuiCtrlCreateButton("Cancel", 100, 75, 80, 20)

GUISetState ()

 $msg = 0
 While $msg <> $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
        $msg = GUIGetMsg()
        Select
            Case $msg = $subitem
                exitloop
       EndSelect

If $msg = $canitem Or $msg = -3 Or $msg = -1 Then Exit

Wend

ProcessWaitClose($subitem)

;--------------------------------------------------
; RUN WINVNC SC
;--------------------------------------------------

Run("winvnc.exe -connect " & GUICtrlRead($tcpipitem) & ":" & GUICtrlRead($portitem) & " -noregistry")
