I would like to be able to create an msi file and then be able to use group policy to assign it to every computer in the domain. In theory this ought to be possible but I wondered if anyone had managed to achieve this and what the stumbling blocks were. This would make installing Ultra to a large number of clients a breeze.
About a year ago I put a request on this forum for a small single click way of installing VNC and had no idea at the time that it would be created and be far better than I had anticipated.

I had expected that it would be a quicker way of installing Ultra rather than a small standalone exe so was overjoyed at what was created It is much smaller than I expected so it is easy for a user to download it even on a slow connection. The perfomance is good and clients are always impressed. I can't thank Rudi and Sam enough for this. It has saved me hundreds of hours in travel time alone. UltraVNC and Single Click are the two most important and useful pieces of software that I use.

I can only find people saying fastpush is the easiest way to go but I would have figured that creating an MSI custom package and AD group policy for deployment would be easiest also.
I just got my green light to push it out so I will see how the program MAKEMSI and windows program to create msi's work. If they do then I will post here otherwise I will revert to fastpush.
