Define the IP on a compiled SC

Post by eumesmo »

Hi.

I'm using SC to make a first connection on new customers and everything runs fine. The only problem is that I don't have a static IP myself. So, everyday I need to use SC, I have to change the IP on helpdesk.txt to my current IP and create it on the site again.

Is there a way I could create a SC that asks for the IP number before connecting, so i could tell my customer my IP, he enters it and SC connects to me, instead of defining an IP on the creation of the file?

I know I could ask him to install WinVNC and, on the server, add a new client and put my IP there, but some of them don't know how to install UltraVNC and it's harder to explain them this than to make a new SC.

I read the help file and the forum but couldn't find anything about it. Sorry if I missed it.

Thanks in advance,

Luciano Enzweiler.

A dynalias is the best solution.

1)
+Its' free
+Your PC tell dynmaic dns service his new ip adress
+In the helpdesk.txt you put your dynalias name and fixed forever.

2)
You can use 7zip to unpack the exe.
This way you don't need to generate the Sc online and you only have to change the helpdesk.txt

The dynalias solution was perfect! I tried it and now it's working smoothly.

Thanks very much Rudi De Vos!!!
