Security Question

Post by anjii »

I have a dynanmic IP, how dangerous is it if I register with say no-ip? In other words, a third party, always has my IP address, exactly what is the security risk?

As far as I am concerned there is NO RISK. HAVING the IP address at all is the biggest risk!

Seriously, most script kiddies are scanning large block of IP addresses or random blocks of IP addresses. They don't are if the IP has a domain name associated with it. The name is a convience for you.

I use DynDNS.org myself.

Hey Sean,

I switched to DynDNS.org last night, I feel much more comfortable. I have read their privacy terms, I like it better.
