I cannot seem to connect to any computer outside of my home network. I am very new to UVNC - and do not understand much techno terminology when it comes to vnc commands etc.
I have read through various documentation and cannot attach to outside pc's. I have assured the firewall on 2 outside pc's that VNC server for Win32, Port 5900 is allowed, as well as the viewer.
1 of the outside computers is behind a linksys router.
The other computer is not on a router, just using SP2 firewall
Both are on cable internet
When I try to connect to either computer, the connection fails. If I physically go to one of the computers and try to View into my computer at home, it fails. Again, I can view all day within my home network.
Any (plain english) ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much

Somebody please help
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
if the machine you are connecting to has a router inbetween it and the internet, you will find that your connection is not getting past the router.
the solution is to enable 'port forwarding' from the router, to the computer so that the vnc traffic will flow through.
For further information, please refer to google (search for port forwarding vnc)

Thank you for the reply
I have actually been using uvnc quite successfully since that post. I found the answer at www.portforward.com/routers
I fixed some problems on a remote PC tonight actually
The only hurdle I have left is repeaters. I have not been able to understand the current documentation - broken English. I seem to be a bit of a dim wit when it comes to the repeater. What I am looking for is a step by step. 1: Do this. 2: Now do this. 3: Now do this...
I will eventually get it, but if anyone is willing to help, that would be cool to. It is probably easy as port forwarding, I'm sure.
