Hi,
I am going to be using a mini pc to control my astronomy equipment (telescope mount, camera, focuser, etc) outside while controlling it from a computer inside using UltraVNC. I've installed uvnc server on the mini pc, but I want to force it to always start and use the same IP address, because in my previous experience, if the computer reboots or if windows forces an update, the IP address will change. I will not have access to a monitor at my telescope location, so I'd like it to always use the same one.
Is there a way to make this happen? Alternately, is there a way to always find the uvnc server address from a remote computer?
Thanks,
- Rich

Re: Force uvnc server to use fixed IP address
If you have control over the dhcp server you can give it a fixed ip address.
If not you can use something like dyndns, the the ip change, but the dns name stay the same.
