Remote DoS?

Post by buco »

Hi,

if I try to connect with the new viewer (v1.2.3.1, not v1.2.2.4) to a server (both v1.2.3.0 and v1.2.2.4) using a command line including "/256colors" in addition to the target address, the client does not connect and the server crashes ...
I discovered this behavior on two differnt machines (Windows 10 Pro and Home, loopback or remote connection). Can anyone confirm?

Current 1.2.3 is updated on almosr daily base to fix last issue's.
This is already fixed.

Cause was the jpeg encoder forced using 256 colors, this doesn't work and crashed the encoder.
An xtra server check was added so another encoder is used whne 256 colors are sleected

I can confirm this: It works now with the RC. Thanks!
(Server versions 1.2.2.4 and below are still vulnerable.)
