XP Viewer Blank Screen
XP Viewer Blank Screen
Ok, I am using Rel 1.00 and I have a Windows XP SP2 system running the server with the video hook ( mirror) driver. And yes the system has been restarted. when I attempt to connect from my home computer (Windows XP SP2) I get the Please wait - Initial Screen Loading message and then it boots me out a few minutes later. However when I VNC to my server at work and then from there VNC to this server it comes up just fine! The server at work is running Windows 2000 Server. is there some connection issue between XP SP2 machines ? Because I have not had any problems connecting from Windows 2000

After reading through some of these threads I realized that may have been the problem so I turned it off on both ends. Still no luck does exactly the same thing... I also installed remote administrator to try to reconfigure UltraVNC. It gives me a similar message but it also works on my server at work. What the hell is going on here?!
xp sp2 really clean ?
- some script running in background lock some file ?
- especially spyware, adware
- any special screensaver
- some bad antivirus lock or create unknown bug
-any service not really necessary,(InCD, etc) unused can just stoped and deactivated for check if bug continue.

the systems are both pretty clean , I just don't understand why two VNC programs would work just fine on a Win2K machine on a diff. connection and both VNC programs have the same "Loading Initial Screen" hang issue on another XP SP2 machine. I have also tried it on another machine here with the same results. I can't be the only person having this problem?
Fixed it!
Ok now I am not sure why this worked from one seperate network / connection / computer and not another but I definetely found what was causing the problem. On the router there was no MTU set. So I thought this seemed like a communication issue and enabled MTU and set it to 576 and tada connection issue solved! Freakin weird! but it works now!

I have the same problem. FUS is disabled. WF is disabled. Remote Assistance is disabled. Remote Desktop is disabled. That's on both ends mind you.
I think we need some concerted effort here to figure this out. The commonality that I see here is ATI video cards. So far this week I've found several systems with ATI cards using the latest ATI drivers that will not allow me to connect at all with either the full UVNC 1.00 or the SC 1.00. I've even seen this on a spam new Dell right out of the box (after turning off all the MS remote junk and FUS).
Thanks...
I really think it's the ATI video card. Can we get some more testing/confirmation out there so we can get the developers the info to fix it? What info can I get for them to help this out?Southpaw wrote:I'm having the same issue.
It seems to have started about 2 beta versions ago, and continued with RC1.
I have the latest Video hook drivers installed (and have restarted.)
The MTU on the router is at 1492.
I have an ATI Vid Card.
I can get a connection through once every 30 or so times.
Any ideas?
