Can't duplicate cursor

Post by rsutton »

I have not been satisfied with the cursor when I connect to an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS system that I have. I usually get just a 'dot' for a cursor. I am running Win 7 (32 bit) on the viewer system, so I setup a shortcut on my desktop like so:

"C:\Program Files\uvnc bvba\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -connect main2::5900 -encoding zlib -normalcursor -autoacceptnodsm -quickoption 2 -noauto

By using this, I get a very nice 'pointer' type cursor for my Linux system. I have experimented with all the cursor options on the uvnc viewer side but am unable to duplicate the one that I get when I use the '-normalcursor' option used in the shortcut.

Can someone explain? Thanks in advance...

Dick

ps: I am using UVNC 1.1.9.3

It's the server that need to send the cursor to the viewer.
1° He can cend it as a normal bitmap
2° He can send it as shape + position

The viewer options allow you to select it.
It called local/remote cursor handling
