Aching for an updated version

Post by gherbstman »

It has been a while since the last update and I know there has been a lot of discussion of different updates and fixes. Is there any estimate of when we can see a version that incorporates some of these updates?

I've tried to devote time lately to ChunkVNC with no avail, I have so many fixes and new ideas that I want to implement it's getting bad.
At least the software is open source so people can update it on their own! :)

For the less programming inclined I would like to get a new version out but I don't know when my time will allow.

What fixes/changes/ideas did you have in mind? I might start using ChunkVNC again and have programming experience (I was going to code my own thing in Qt but remembered ChunkVNC).

I was going to make ChunkVNC.com a hub where people could make accounts to manage their customized InstantSupport.
Keeping track of the current connections is really the biggest thing, basically ditching the ID number all together in favor of automation. :)

I would also be willing to help out on some of the updates. There have been several different user updates and coordinating them is tough. I suggest a version control like github would be very useful.

Version control has been asked for before, setup and then neglected. :(
This may be due to the fact that I could use more training on version control. :P

If you'd like to setup the project on github and give me a short refresher on proper usage I would not be opposed to that.
