Viewer Password - questions

Post by atom.Man »

what exactly is the purpose of the viewer password?
i've seen conflicting descriptions about this.

is it used only to start the viewer, or is it also used to authenticate the viewer before retrieving the groups?

other than the obvious issue of someone else accessing your computer and gaining access to the servers, is there any reason to set a viewer password?

also, is it possible to save the password so it doesn't haven't to be re-entered on every start? (windows 7)

It's only used to decrypt local saved data, there is no group authentication

We never can protect 100,0000% our connection server(s), groups retreival doesn't use passwords.
Security depend on the server password that's used as a part of the EAS key. Unless the viewer know the password,
the EAS key is wrong and server/viewer connection fail.

correct, only used to protect server passwords

I just wanted to avoid that the password exist on the system...if you use it, you need to enter it.
It's not possible to save this password
