Chunkviewer versions

Post by JohnHace »

Can we use the same Chunkviewer with 3.2 and 3.3?

It will take some time to get all of our users over to 3.3 and it would be great if we can use the same Chunkviewer with either version.

Thanks.

3.2, 3.3 and 3.3.1 should play together nicely as they all use the SecureVNC DSM plugin for encryption.

I just tested 3.2 viewer with 3.3.1 InstantSupport and it worked for me. :)

I've also had good results with "mix and match" of the versions you mentioned.

One more issue. We compiled 3.2 with a one character password. I think the maximum was eight. Now, it seems 3.3.1 has a minimum of nine characters. How do we resolve this?

Although possible, this would require a code change in the compiler as the SecureVNC DSM plugin complains when the password is less than 9 chars.
Best to simply upgrade InstantSupport and your Viewers to 3.3.1
