Repeater sees ChunkViewer connections but "protocol erro"

Post by jogz »

I'm on a corporate network with many subnets. We do NOT plan on using this to connect outside of our network but all subnets should be able to connect. We stuck with 5901 and 443. Windows FW is off.

I put the repeater on, say, 192.168.1.100 which is a Windows Server 2003 machine. I run the viewer and it comes up and says:
WAN: Repeater server.domain.int (what I used for the WAN) connection established!
LAN: Repeater 192.168.1.100 connection established!

When I run the InstantSupport.exe, nothing is logged to the repeater. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Below is what I see when I run the viewer:

Viewer added to list 776475
ID added 776475
recv -1
ECONNRESET detected
Viewer removed from list 776475
accept() connection
Writing protocol version erro
accept() connection

Any ideas?

I just disabled the "enable prox(443)" setting and changed the Listen Port Server to 443 and now it seems to work??

Good catch, I was puzzled for a bit why it wouldn't work.

The settings.txt for the included Windows Repeater doesn't have this option checked by default.

Windows Repeater settings should be this:
