Hi,
I'm using Ultra VNC view 1.0.9.6.1 under Win XP-SP-3 to connect to Windows Vista Ultra VNC Server 1.0.9.6.1 but the view keeps crashing.
What can I do to resolve this?
Thanks,
JJ

VNC viewer keeps crashing
Re: VNC viewer keeps crashing
I am having the same problem but with Win7 x64 connecting to another Win7 x64. The connection drops every 2 minutes, almost like clockwork. I have also noticed that when you hover the mouse over the UltraVNC Server icon in the task bar (notification area) it has a strange IP address or it will have the IP address with extra numbers at the end. When this is happening, I cannot stay connected for longer than two minutes. If I restart the service or the PC, it usually clear the problem, unless UltraVNC server begins displaying the incorrect IP address again. This is happening in both 1.0.9.6.1 x64 and 1.0.6.9.2 x64.
Re: VNC viewer keeps crashing
Turns out this was happening on my system because of slow port negotiation. On my cisco spanning-tree portfast on the network port the VNC machine was connected to fixed the problem
Re: VNC viewer keeps crashing
I'm having the same problem where the viewer session appears to disconnect after a few minutes when connecting to Vista and Win 7 PCs. Rebooting the my PC and the target PC does not help. It appears to be more oriented towards 64bit systems. I have it happening at numerous customers with different types of network switches and routers. There doesn't appear to be any other common factor.
Re: VNC viewer keeps crashing
We had a problem with one customer using internet via satellite. The viewer crashed (closed immediately without any error pop up) 4-8 times before a connection could be established. Once the connection was established it was stable. Sounds similar...gyyrog wrote:Turns out this was happening on my system because of slow port negotiation.
(we use reverse connection via repeater)
