Problem with Welcome screen of XP

Post by balubeto »

HI

I installed UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (64 bit) on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.

When I try to check the Welcome screen of a computer that has Windows XP Pro SP3 with the same version of UltraVNC (32 bit), I can only control the keyboard and mouse without being able to see anything.

So, how do I fix this?

THANKS

The configuration of UltraVNC Server on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit and Windows XP Pro SP3 is:

Instead, the configuration of UltraVNC Viewer on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit is:

When, with this configuration, I try to check the XP Welcome Screen to begin a work session, I can take control of the remote keyboard and mouse, but, on Viewer, the XP Welcome Screen is not displayed. Why? Where I wrong?

THANKS

Try turning on "capture alpha blending" on the server side. And of course try refreshing the viewer after connecting...

HI

I found that, putting a value different from 0 in the "......... attempts ... timeout" field of the Viewer, my problem goes away. Why?

THANKS

Thanks for the update! I can't answer your question; I would only be guessing that the retries get around some initial handshaking issues. This will probably help someone else though.
