I recently discoverd ChunkVNC, and boy, it's a fine product. Too bad my main homecomputer is a mac. So I looked at different viewers, but none did what I needed, or I couldn't get them to work (ssvnc) with my repeater. So I decided to try the windows version under wine. (using wineskin)
Got it working from the first time.
Thanks for the great product !

Chunkviewer on OSX using Wineskin
Re: Chunkviewer on OSX using Wineskin
Thanks for the compliments!
I've never heard of wineskin until today, neat program and good to know that ChunkViewer works in it just fine!

Re: Chunkviewer on OSX using Wineskin
Huh, I never even thought about trying VNC under WINE -- I guess because I didn't realize WINE supported OSX, which is the *nix OS I use most often.
If one can run all the parts of UltraVNC and/or ChunkVNC and/or the repeaters in OSX and Linux, that kind of changes the game!
I wonder how big it gets or if a single distributable package is even feasible....
Thanks, Stefke.

Re: Chunkviewer on OSX using Wineskin
Well it gets rather big (in my opinion)
The viewer app is around 200MB, but for the viewer that's ok.
For the server part, I replaced the supplied x11vnc with the latest version x11vnc-0.9.12_i386-apple-darwin_8.11.1 (didn't want to try te test version yet) and added "-ultrafilexfer" to the connectstring, and filetransfer is working.
Now the only thing I still need is a password. I can add "-password xxx" (maybe put the password in servers.txt, but how secure will that be ?)
