WTF???? Can't access through WAN on 2wire

Post by JeffMatthews »

I have spent way too many hours trying to figure this out.

Server: Win7
Client: Win Vista

I "think" I properly forwarded port 5900. PFPortChecker successfully pings WAN and says port is OPEN.

Still, fail to connect to server.

I have tried firewall settings fro windows7 by adding rules to allow both TCP and UDP to "Allow the Connection" to Local Port 5900 from "All Remote Ports" for "All Interface Types" for Profiles "Domain, Private and Public." The only "screwball" setting I left alone was "Block edge traversal." Can't seem to find much documentation on it, as if hardly anybody knows what that is.

I got this working on my Dlink router at home last night. So, there is something different between Dlink and my 2wire at work.

Has anybody an idea? This is getting absurd! (OK, I'm frustrated)
