Win7 x64 uVNC & iPhone connection

Post by raginghobo32907 »

Router: Linksys WRT160v2
uVNC version: 1.0.9.5
iPhone app: Mocha VNC Lite

At one point I had all the settings correct so that I was able to connect to my PC via my iPhone outside of my WLAN. I don't know how, when, or why, but now I'm unable to connect within or outside of my network. I'm not sure if the port is no longer port forwarded, if the password isn't being set when I change it to what I want (as every time I re-open admin properties it becomes a shorter series of dots than what I put in), or if there is some setting I'm overlooking.

I have a Dynamic DNS set up through dyndns.com, and it's set up on the router. I'm not sure if that's correct either, although I hadn't changed anything when it stopped working.

I've been tinkering with Ultra VNC for about a week now, trying to make my settings the way they were when they worked properly.

Here's the admin properties page:

When I change anything in the incoming connections the box, the entire window freezes up and I'm forced to end the process. I'm not sure if that's a bug or if the program just won't allow me to change that because it's the correct setting, but it continues to freeze.

If anyone has a clue as to what the issue could be, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks guys, keep up the great work :)

Wish I could tell you that worked, but no dice :\

I'm thinking it has something to do with my router but I can't figure out what, or why.

port 0 is not possible, enable checkbox auto

another solution
stop uvnc service
delete ultravnc.ini
start uvnc_service
it ask to set password, do it and save it OK
try again to connect.

AHHHHH!

Okay, got it working.

Figured out the reason the window was freezing every time I'd change anything in the "Incoming Connections" box. You can't change many settings when the service is running. Deleting the .ini and restarting the service did the trick.

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH. Now I can access my files while I'm on my trip to NY!

Redge, you ROCK! :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!!
