SC Settings

Post by peekaboo »

Im new to the uVNC SC tool, but I think I'm going in the right direction.

So, today I set up port forwarding in my router to forward port 5500 to my computers IP address.

In the helpdesk.txt I set the [HOST] also to my computers IP address. Doing this allowed me to connect my other computer which is also on the same network.

However, when I tried to test it with a friend outside of my network, it didnt work.

So, I went back into the [HOST] and changed the value from my computers IP address to the routers IP address.

I have not tested this yet with my friend outside of my network, but the computers inside of my network can no longer connect. Is this how it should be?

Will changing the [HOST] value to my routers IP address make it able to connect to people outside my network?

Your router certainly has a dynamically assigned ip-address on the internet. You have to use a Dyn-DNS service to connect from the internet or tell your friend your current internet-ip-address (don't forget to add it as [host] in the helpdesk.txt and recompile sc.exe).
