Features suggestions

Post by EZToms »

Hello,

First of all, congratulation for the great work on Uvnc SC, I've discovered it a few days ago, and it works really really fine. I'm actually starting a IT business where I'll have to do support and this tool is just perfect for that ! So far it has worked in all case (nat, fw...), I managed to get encryption working also (sweet). Eventually I made a small install package so it creates a nice icon on the user desktop and start menu and copies the file to programme file.

I haven't tried the very last version with confirmation, but it looks to go in the right direction. A dedicated viewer seems kinda logical, you could also have a front end, to put the viewer in listen mode with or without Encryption.

A usefull feature I think for helpdesk would be to have a loggin of the connected computer with computer name, date and time, so that we'll have a record on how much time spend for each customer/user. This stored in a simple .log file would do the trick. Duration would be a must, but start/end is fine also.

Also a small comment on the UI, could it be possible to add a "Connect" button, so that user can select the connection then hit connect. Double clicking is not always straighforward imho (but that could still be possible).

Last question/comment, could SC be launched directly without the UI, if for example you only have 1 setting. Or maybe do it from the command line like sc.exe -profile 1, with maybe just a Yes/no confirmation (and -noconfirm option ;) ). That way it'd really be Single Click ;) Maybe that's possible with the original uvnc I guess.

And congrats again for the amazing job on SC, this simple idea seems to be one of a killer app ;) And those are not critics, it's just suggestions to make the program even better.

Regards,

I second the [Connect] button idea.

I would also like to see that once the user either double clicks the connection or hits the connect button, a customizable disclaimer, (By clicking connect you are authorizing XYZ to remotely administer your PC) or something to that effect.

I've even tried adding this type of text in the White Pane (connection box) but can't figure out how to do it yet.

I'm sure there is a way?

Also, and I'm full of this , it would be nice to automatically have SC remove the ICON from the users machine after the sesstion has been completed.

In other words once you have gone in and done the voodoo that you do, you are free of the call and you dont want the icon left behind for them to just hit anytime they have a cut and paste question.
