SSH newbie

Post by dsmcd01 »

Hello...

Am I correct that SSH eliminates the need for port forwarding? or am I way off base on this one?

Thx,
D.

if you are using something like cygwin or openssh - from my brief expereince I remembered that if you created this tunnel to a specific computer you can then either do one of two things -

Set up your ssh as a proxy then connect to your internal network normally, e.g. you connect to computer A through proxy then type in computer b's name or ip and the ssh tunnells all traffic for that network.

or

just connect to the computer that is hosting the ssh. by doing a loobpack connection. This granted your not runing nix which currently uvnc doesnt support.
