Post by Guest »

Hello all, I am trying to change the password on the server and it's not changing at all. I don't remember the password that I set so I am trying to change it and it's not working. Anyone got any ideas??

no version and or how its set up (service or app)

Uninstall - Reboot - Run Registry cleaner (lots of free apps) - Reboot - Reinstall.

Also - uninstall anything else you may have e.g. RealVNC or TightVNC.. these can cause issues.

Sorry about that. I am running RC18 and I didn't run registry cleaner because I don't have one. Got any ideas for a good one? I did however uninstall VNC, deleted the folder that remained and used regedit to go into registry and deleted the only entry I saw for VNC under software. I don't recall what part of registry it was because I am at work right now. I want to say it was HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Ultra VNC. I rebooted and then reinstall Ultra VNC and it doesn't ask me to set a password when I install it. It doesn't go through the whole installation process. It's like it's finding a previous installation of it and going off of it or something. Please help! thanks
