Windows 7 again -- slow screen refresh

Post by willever »

I have used Single Click for years on XP and it is fabulous.

I have tried to use it on Vista and Win 7 PCs and I am having the same slow response that others have reported. IE it takes 20-30 seconds to refresh a screen.

I have read thru the forums and I see lots of talk about the DIS_UAC command – I have placed it in my helpdesk.txt file as follows. I use the top choice to connect (rick’s computer) xyz.com is just a dummy domain for this post.

[TITLE]
UltraVnc SC
[HOST]
Rick's Computer
-id 4444 -connect xyz.com::5501 -noregistry
[HOST]
Warren's Computer
-id 2222 -connect xyz.com::5501 -noregistry
[DIS_UAC]

I have recreated my exe file – it is version 4.10.0.1

I am using ultravnc v 1.0.8.2

I am using pchelpware repeater v 1.0

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Rick

I had never tried the Single Click on Vista/7, but I'm quite sure the DIS_UAC not relating to the speed of screen refresh, but you may need it as the UAC prompt during the SC connection will interrupt the communication, and this command is to turn UAC off.

A lot of users reported turning off the Aero resulting a huge improvement of the speed.
Here are some threads for your reference:

The problem isn't AERO... i have the same problem on a remote client with Vista Basic (Vista Basic don't use AERO).

I'm sure there is another problem wich cause the slow screen refresh.
